4. The Self and the Siblings
It is wise to comprehend the existence of ourselves. The following explanation is esoteric (esoteric: any secretive perception or knowledge that is difficult to understand or remember, only a handful of people who have the capability for it) and may be able to make us comprehend better.
4.1. The Four Siblings and the Self
The ancient Javanese generally understand “Sedulur papat limo pancer” (the four siblings and the fifth as the light). Who are they? These are everything that appears together through an opening during the birth process. Every self has Spirit that manifest in 5 elements:
1. The 1st sibling that has relationship with “Willingness” is symbolized by little finger, this sibling locates itself in the front body, and its presence is signified by the water from the placenta which has white light,
2. The 2nd sibling that has relationship with “Aspiration” is symbolized by ring finger, this sibling locates itself in the right side body, and its presence is signified by the self personality of the baby,
3. The 3rd sibling that has relationship with “Thought” is symbolized by the middle finger, locates itself in the left side body, and its presence is signified by the placenta that has green light. From these three substances (placenta water, the baby, the placenta) are often called as “Kakang Kawah Adhi Ari-ari”; i.e.: the placenta water (or known as the caldera) is said to be the elder sibling, because it appears first, followed by the baby, then the placenta is said to be the younger sibling because it appears after the baby,
4. The 4th sibling that has relationship with “Emotion” is symbolized by the fore finger/index finger, this sibling locates itself in the rear body, and its presence is signified by the blood which has red light (that’s why when we are so easy to get angry when we see red colour, sometimes we also point to someone using this index finger),
5. The 5th sibling that is the true higher self of the human is located inside our abdomen, its presence in the form of belly button is symbolized by the black light.
Physically, all the substances are separated from the baby by cutting the umbilical cord near to the baby’s belly button, after some days the remaining umbilical cord that is close to the baby’s belly button will break off from the belly accordingly. This event is known as “Pupak Puser” (the Break off the belly button). The complete order for the four Siblings and the fifth as light is: placenta water, the baby, placenta, blood and the belly button.
Actually, besides the 4 substances/siblings that appear through the opening during the birth, human still has a sibling that appears first through other way. This substance appears whenever the mother has the feeling or desire of willingness to give birth, so the body heat and the pain appears as sweat through the skin pores that transforms two twins substances, they are: Queen of the male and Queen of the female, then they are known as “Sedulur Mamati”.
These five siblings of us cooperate in manifesting our physical body, therefore their position and condition should be equal. But our siblings often cannot manifest properly, this is due to the human’s factor who is not often aware about their existence, further more the human thinks and acts with less proper harmony with the universe. Besides, there are less people who really want to know and to learn to understand the esoteric information. This in actually very useful for the human to begin his/her journey to increase the awareness. Ponder this human’s weakness:
Human believes what he wants to believe.
4.2. Know Yourself
The religious knowledge does not tell or reveal this esoteric reality, most religions tend to simplify it and to discuss it more in the human side. Let’s analyze ourselves by asking the followings:
1. Who am I?
2. Why was I born in this family and in this particular environment?
3. What are my life tasks?
4. Why do certain people treat me “good” while others “bad”?
5. How can I really know the Creator better and seriously?
6. How can I be fully aware with my presence in anywhere, whenever and with anyone?
There are still more questions that cannot be answered at present. In order to get the answers, they should be obtained privately in the form of personal life experience which in certain phases will not be the same from person to person. Spirituality is a thing about the Spirit. The following story about the Master may be helpful:

A disciple whines to his Master
“Master tells many stories to us, but never explains the meaning to us.”
The Master replies:
“What do you think, son, if someone offers you fruit, but he chews it for you first?”
Nobody can find the most precise understanding for themselves. Neither can the Master. Only when we open ourselves, open our mind, conscience, and our spirit in so many things outside our religious knowledge and present conditioning, then we will find ourselves much easier to observe, seek, digest, comprehend the mystery of our thought, behaviour and human's characters, which hopefully will bring us to higher awareness.
Some of the readers may disagree at the above explanation, well, it is understandable that disagreement can rise. Why?
Firstly, because we are still bound with the conditionings or paradigm that we assume these as correct and should not be questioned,
Secondly, what causes the first are because of our ignorance as human provided with mind and ego that do not wish to lose,
Thirdly, we are still so often trapped in the arguments such as: "Why do you have to know it?, What is the benefit of knowing it?, you are so weird."
Please remember that the 4 siblings of ours have very closed relationship with the: willingness, aspiration, thought, and emotion plus our true higher self. Kindly observe: how will our fingers lift, pick or hold and grasp heavy things correctly and precisely if they are not helped by the thumb?. In other words: if there is no willingness to know, our aspiration will be less than optimal, thought will also be narrow minded, and the emotion becomes less controllable, then the true higher self cannot perform optimally. Ideally, our four siblings and the true higher self cooperate together in equal level with the human.
Therefore all positive willingness shall be created first, so as to be followed by the process of sub-conscious mind. That's why we are often advised to think positively in order to to be able to implement everything in the positive way, which will make the result become positive.
5. The Spirit Guide
Some of you may be up set hearing this terminology. In order to know the Spirit Guide assigned to human, a spiritual ability or psychic talent is required for the person who wishes to observe this Spirit Guide. The existence of Spirit Guide is seldom explained by religious leaders, it is rarely discussed because these Spirit Guides are invisible by most human eyes. Though actually their role in guiding the human is very meaningful. Some people call or name this Spirit Guide as "Guardian Angel" or Protective Angel, but in reality the position or the rank of Spirit Guide cannot be said as Guardian Angel, because he/she is not the Guardian Angel.
Every human must have at least one Spirit Guide, and may be more than one. The role of this Spirit Guide is to accompany the living human on earth. The Spirit Guide can be from different races and different professions, because formerly they were also human having living experience as human with different professions. Because they are considered having the capability, they are assigned to human to guide him/her in this very life. The Spirit Guide assigned to us could be from Tibet, Mongol, China, American Indian, ancient Indian, ancient Egypt, ancient Greek, ancient Arabian or other races.
When we are keen enough to observe certain incidents or happenings in our life, we will be able to know that those incidents or happenings could occur because of "the helps from unseen forces". These are the work results from the Spirit Guide. Even some inspirational ideas, intuitions mostly come from these Spirit Guide, but of course there are some possibility that these come from the four sibling and the true higher self of us. Of course it is difficult for us to detect or know where those ideas, intuitions come from. It requires higher awareness and willingness from ourselves to recognize them. The easiest way to know the profession of the Spirit Guide is to observe the human activities in longer period of time. For example, when someone likes to read books, or writing many articles; usually the Spirit Guide also had the same activities or similar profession in his/her previous life. However, sometimes the profession of the Spirit Guide could be different from the person whom he/she guides. This happens as there might be some life lessons that the person should learn. Or suddenly we are getting interested in certain objects or certain stories which have historical values, which we ourselves have never known why we can become so enthusiastic to explore further. This might be the guidance from the unseen forces conveyed by the Spirit Guide. To some people, they may have four Spirit Guides from different races and different professions.
This Spirit Guide does not always have active role, this depends much on the person whom he/she guides. If the person whom they guide is aware enough and really wants to learn much, then the Spirit Guide will have more active role in guiding the person by giving him/her useful inspirations or intuitions to make the person reach higher awareness. For those who do not want to be aware or do not have willingness, the Spirit Guide can do nothing more than just becoming the observer. The Spirit Guide will practically keep and watch the parameters that have been set out by the Providence.
6. The Rebirth
Have you ever noticed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the savvy boy who could play piano since he was 3 years old?. Have you ever questioned: how could a little child be so skillful in playing the piano that he had just known?. The answer is easy for those who can comprehend: because in his previous life, this little "Mozart" had ever learnt and a master in playing the piano. This generally happens to talented children where their talents come from their previous lives.
May be you will ask: if our present lives are incarnation, then how come we cannot remember or even know who we were before this very life?. This is the unique thing, because if we knew or remembered who we were before, we would never be able to learn appropriately in this life. Let's say we know that in our previous life we had ever become a King in the old Egyptian Kingdom, while in this very life we are only employees in lower rank; so we would not be able to improve ourselves accordingly. Why? one of the specific characters of human is: because human tends to have nostalgic memories, remembering the past or the good old days. May be our thinking patterns and actions would be influenced or obsessed by our positions or professions in the past. That's why every Spirit who will incarnate shall pass through river of forgetfulness to make the Spirit in amnesia condition, this of course will make the Spirit "forget" all the pasts memories and be ready to live in the freshness of "new" life. As if there were some kind of veil to cover the memories that cannot be recklessly opened by the human, unless the human himself/herself has reached full awareness or enlightenment.
For readers who have less faith in the rebirth, there is one "Best Seller" book titled "Journey of Souls" written by Michael Newton, Ph.D. He is a Master Hypnoteraphist. In his book, he reveals everything about the life in the after life. He gets the detailed information from his clients through "Past Life Regression" therapies.
Actually, by hypnotic approach, we could know "much" on things that are not familiar with the conscious mind. And why can't we know?. That is because our perceptions are so limited. For example: our eyes or our ears can only perceive 1/10 of all existence from our surroundings. A research had been carried out by the British scientists, they gathered 10 volunteers just to watch a Television where there were some scenes showing 5 basket ball players were throwing ball to one another. The test was simple: the volunteers were asked to watch and count how many times the ball changed from one player to others until the Researchers paused the video. Every volunteer mentioned different numbers in their answers. Whenever they were asked again by the Researchers if they noticed something peculiar in the scenes, they said that they did not see anything strange. Then the Researchers replayed the video with the same scene, but this time the volunteers were asked to watch it attentively without counting or commenting. What happened?. The volunteers were surprised to find that a human size Gorilla (played by an actor) was dancing in the middle of the players waving to the audience, whereas this Gorilla was unnoticed by the volunteers before; they all laughed loudly realizing their recklessness. The volunteers asked the Researchers why they could not have spotted the Gorilla in the first place?. The answer was so simple: because they were so overwhelmed by the act of "Counting" the changing ball from one hand to others, they did not watch the scene as a whole, I myself who was watching this documentary video "Human Senses" by the BBC also never realized that the same Gorilla appeared several times in other scenes, sometimes walking sometimes just sitting or even waving!. This kind of inability to know through our sight is known technically as "Changing Blindness". Notice when we are watching a magician showing his empty hands in a moment, then suddenly a few seconds later something appears in the magician's hands!, but before he makes actions he usually will tell the audience to pay attention to his other hand or pointing to certain pats of his body, while actually our eyes are being deceived!. The same weakness also happens through our hearings. How many of you can really listen attentively to the music in the crowded area?. Some people will even use headphones just to avoid the background noise!.
When someone is under the influence of hypnosis, whatever he/she says or does are the output form the sub-consciousness. This is very amazing, because he/she can remember so many details from the experience they had. That's why the Justice Court never allows the results of hypnosis method to be submitted as evidences or as basis for prosecutions. Why?. The defendant could be sentenced to more severe punishment in the lawsuit. Even the motive behind the criminal act might be revealed!.
