3. Diversity of Human

In this universe, we are able to find various forms, types, patterns and levels of intelligence of His creations. As humans, we are also consist of different skin colours, tall and short postures, different hair colours and forms, even the iris of our eyes can be different. Apart from the above differences, notice that practically all humans must have the essential body, limbs, head and equipped with nine perceptions; the five perceptions are tangible: eyes, ears, mouth, nose, skin; the other four perceptions are intangible: feeling of curiosity, aspirations, thought and emotions. You might not agree at the way I categorize the perceptions, but do we not always make ourselves connected to others through them?.

At first, human settled in different regions with different geography and climates that caused man to learn to adapt themselves with the environments, or even with their limited skills tried to fulfill their needs. Later, when the population increased, the changes made in the environments were not based on the basic needs, these changes have been made due to the human's egoistic greed without thinking the larger impact and the future consequences to the other human's existence. Have we ever realized that the one of the causes for the climate change that tends to be hotter in the 21st century is due to the reduction of areas in the tropical jungle?. Everyone must have known that tropical jungles are the lungs for the world. Other worse impact in the present condition is the irregularity of the seasons, where the rainy season's time has moved slightly to the dry season's time.

The language has been known by many ethnics or races as means of communication that has been followed by simple technologies, such as: rice fields irrigation system, land tiling, some staple food and other things that have caused the human's living patterns create various cultures, traditions, certain faiths, thinking patterns as well as life styles of certain human communities that later on became developed into nations.

Unfortunately, there have been separations of the same races or grass roots in some nations due to the ambition, greed and certain ideology or faith from certain human communities. The separations sometimes are followed by some efforts by certain groups to discredit the others. This is an evidence that as human, when we are not truly aware, we have egoistic character that can be potentially dangerous to destroy anything. If we still do not want to learn how to achieve the balance within ourselves. An interesting remark was made by the Master:

Ideology

The Master was so allergic to ideology.

“In the ideological wars,” He said, “It is the citizens who become the victims.”

Then He added, “Man kills for money or power. But the cruelest killers are those who kill for the sake of their ideas.”

The World history has proved this reality, can you imagine how miserable those people in the countries where their leaders are so authoritative who tends to monopolize the truth based on their own ideas. I hope you can ponder this issue honestly and try to find out which groups or which nations in this world that have the attitudes as stipulated by the Master.

Isn't the diversity a wonderful blessing given by the Creator?. Just look around us, there are many various shapes, colours of plants, vegetables, and fruits in the plants kingdom. Some are small, some are big, and some even do not have cambium, such as: bamboo. In many Chinese painting traditions, we can see bamboo leaves and the green bamboo trunks, which are clearly defined to show its repeated horizontal lines. Do you have any idea why this is shown?. Though the trunk has no cambium, or emptiness inside it, but its strength and flexibility have been proved useful and strong. At the height of 6m or more, this bamboo tree cannot be uprooted easily by strong wind. So, this is a nature secret that we need to know; as quoted in the old saying:

emptiness is in the whole, and the whole is in the emptiness

The simple comprehension of the above is: whenever our mind can be made empty from any kind of conditioning, we will be able to accept everything easily. What's the use?. It is very useful: we will not become introvert people, fanatical or too selfish. We will have more chance to expand our self-awareness and it will make us more humble (as: the grass or shrubs which lives in groups), not being stiff (as: tree trunk with the cambium), ready to accept anything (as: the emptiness inside the bamboo trunk), acting and doing as what is necessary at the right moment (as: the growth of stems in the bamboo), living through the life as what it is (as: the bamboo leave has small triangular shape in its base, then it expands in the middle and having triangular shape in the top. Do you know what this means?)

Observe this picture

Bamboo trees

Bamboo teaches us to be honest and humble. We can clearly see the strong horizontal lines that indicate the solid part of the bamboo, with the emptiness in between these horizontal lines.

The following story from the Master is a clear example of realities that happen in human attitude that is worth to ponder, in which category are you?:

a. Who only stares at the finger?

b. Who always suck the finger?

c. Who uses his finger to rub his eyes?

d. Who will make more distance from the finger?

Religion and Finger

“The faith in religion,” said the Master, “is not a statement on the reality, but it is a guide, that directs to something which is still a mystery. This mystery is beyond the comprehension of human kind. In short, the faith in religion is a finger that points at the moon.”

Some religious people have never stepped farther from just staring at the finger.

Others are so overwhelmed to suck it.

Others use their fingers to rub their eyes. These are people who have been blinded by the religion.

It is rare to find religion followers who make farther distance from their fingers to enable them to see what is being pointed. These people, due to their ability to comprehend things beyond the faith, have been considered by the religion followers as slanders.

Then, one night the Master took his disciples in an open field. The sky was full of stars. While pointing at the stars, He looked at his disciples and said, “OK, pay your attention to my index finger.”

They then understood what he meant.

We should be grateful if we could have our attitude to make more distance from the finger. Because when we have such attitude, we will be very open minded person. These could be: our heart, thought, spirit, ego or even our feeling; and hopefully, we all will be blessed in getting more true information, although it is still a mystery, but it still becomes wonderful things and can make us more aware of His creations at which we will be able to position ourselves as wise people.

The longer the distance between reality and you, the more argument, the more philosophizing there is. The less the distance, the less argument.

Do you think that I have come here to bring peace on earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother.
