2.3. Grown-up

A Maturity is not always shaped by certain ages, it depends on the thinking patterns, home environment, school, organization, group or community where a 20-year old person or even older person lives. There are so many people who are adult in their age, but their thinking patterns are less than mature or even too narrow minded in response to various life changes and challenges.

It is said that the age of 30 is supposed to be a maturity in moral understanding of an adult person. Why is it?. Based on this moral maturity, a person prepares himself to upgrade to a suitable reasoning and wisdom that he should already have. Since his age is increasing from year to year until 40 years old, the shaping of all wisdom should have started and then resulting in the real wisdom for himself, his family and others. These all are the results of the life experience as shaped through several stages of difficulties, complexities, hardships, sadness, and cheers that have occurred in his own life or someone else's life, which are also followed by other conditionings that could shape maturity in thinking patterns that usually can be easily detected in the way how a person is able to analyze every problem or incident with different perspectives, using the harmony of his conscience, mind and spirit. At the same time, when we are so active in continuous honest self-introspections during these ages, then it will be very supportive for us to achieve the true wisdom.

How do we know that a person has had wisdom in his life?. This type of person is usually less in talking, he talks only when it is necessary, his deed and his words are one and the same (this is not easy and most people do not do it). His talking is so relieving, and generates the passion and spirit for the listeners. Even it can make others become increasingly aware of their own mistakes.

But, we need to be aware that we should always implement the teachings from the Sages which can make us in our continuous awareness; so it is not only limited to praising the Sages, but we have to avoid idolizing the Sages if we cannot implement the the Sages' sayings in our reality. There are so many people who adore so much their Sages, sometimes by saying the Sage's name from time to time, but they show very different attitude or they even seldom implement the deeds or sayings from the Sage.

Symbol

The Master explained that the world in which most people see is not the real world, but rather a world crested by their minds.

When an expert came to debate on it, the Master put two sticks of fire match on the floor to shape letter T and asked, “What do you see here?”

“T letter,” replied the expert.

“Exactly as I thought,” said the Master.

“There is no T letter; it is only a symbol in your head. What you see here is two pieces of wood in stick shaped.”

The above story proves that what we see is often the result of things processed in our own mind. May be any of you have ever been successful to see the true appearance of natural things?. Their existence is so amazing and very wonderful, it's beyond human words. What we are used to seeing through our eyes does not always reflect the true existence!.

2.4. Late age

The late age is commonly considered to start at 50 years old and above (there is no fixed number for this guideline, as everything that concerns human age is so relative), sometimes the late age is determined by the State at 56, that is based on the retirement plan at the age of 55. This is the time for most people to have more self-introspections while at the same time they can implement all their knowledge and experience for the benefit of mankind. Just remember that we all have learned from someone else and from the whole universe. So wouldn't it be nice if we could return all what we have already had to the universe again?. This will certainly continue the sustainable process of creation for the next phase.

Let's go to the woods and observe a lush green tree that is full of leaves growing lavishly in the rainy season, then comes the dry season when some of the green leaves become dry and fall down to the ground to decompose further due to the weather changes and seasons. This decomposition is actually the beginning of other life phases; from them, they become useful fertilizer for the growth of other plants or even other creatures. This is an unending process of manifestation from one form to other form which is part of ecological system applicable to every creation. When we have understood how this universe works, then we should also carry out our activities for the optimum results in the contribution of our life here and right now, that is based on: our faith, hope, and love. These three aspects are not necessarily in order, but they must be present in every deed of ours. Notice, when we speak, we also create!. We create so much things, such as: creating sounds in a room or in any space, we fill something in the emptiness of space and time continuum that creates reactions from the surrounding which can be 'good' or 'bad' quality for the human, animals, plants, minerals and other unseen world. Besides, we also create atmosphere. It is our ability to create many things that makes us very unique. Isn't this one of the greatest gifts from our Creator that we can use to give to anyone and anything?.

Ever wonder about these?

During this late age that we will often see how the younger generations grow up and how they fill their life with all their knowledge or any newly invented tools to follow the human's intellectuality. The thinking patterns and the faith from these younger generations could be different from the previous older generations, which usually the older generations find more difficulties to comprehend the younger ones. There is a good advice from the Master for older generations:

Never insist our knowledge on our kids, because they were born in different era. Let them grow and develop their comprehensions using their awareness.

We should be honest and try to review our history, then we would be aware that every era in the history would bring certain changes, and the truth is: history repeats by itself from era to era. There is nothing eternal in this world.

Every creation will end (evolution to be correct) by starting other creation. Or may be the correct way of saying it, is: every manifestation will transform to other different manifestation at the proper space and time continuum. There is no death without birth and there is no birth without death (just remember the above story of a green tree). Other useful example of proper manifestation: look at a silk-worm that manifests in cocoon form, then it manifests again in butterfly from. In every phase of its life, it will always give significant meaning and contribute to its environment or other creations. Let's observe its life phase by phase: When it is still a silk-worm, it consumes the mulberry leaves in its activity to live, this seems inflicting to the tree leaves, but what is the meaning of losing several leaves compared to the advantage of its later life phase to metamorphose as butterfly?. The butterfly will fly everywhere bringing the stamen of the mulberry tree, in the end the stamen will drop to other places and create new grown trees. In essence, everything manifests in different forms whenever the condition and situation are appropriate, as can be expressed by the following:

“To create new life and to continue to the next phase of life in sustainable chains in the harmonious universe”.

This is clearly not a secret of the universe, it is actually a reality that is easily understood, but likely to be overlooked by most people.

That's why it is said: from nature returned to nature; for human, we often know: from ashes to ashes. I believe it is time for us to really make action, that is whatever we 'borrow' from nature must be returned to nature. It would be more advantageous if we could contribute other benefits that will give greater impact to every element of this universe so as to enable the next generations to enjoy what we have done. Please remember how those mineral Kingdom, plants Kingdom, animal Kingdom work together to create in their simplicity to fill this meaningful life.

You have control over your action and not over its fruits. You should not live for the fruits of action, nor attach yourself to inaction.

- Verse-47 of Bhagavad Gita -

The head generally exists at the expense of the heart and at the expense of the body. It kills the heart, it kills the body, and then it lives like a ghost in a machine.

- Osho -

When you are on the path, you cannot see the totality of your path. You cannot see other people moving on other paths-naturally. You are confined to a very narrow space. The higher you move, the bigger the space becomes.
